Good news, because we are here in Findlay OH to visit a long-time, (mostly) distant friend (and former boyfriend), Warren, who was known as “Pooh Bear” or just “Pooh” by everyone in that junior university called Stanford who knew him well (not just me). Felix and I last saw him in Dallas TX when we were there for a neuroscience conference in 1985. Warren and his wife Saundra took us to a Japanese grill steakhouse where the chef twirled spatulas, flicked vegetables, and tried to set the table on fire…

FE: I have not had a haircut since the beginning of this trip, so I was a bit scared to be set on fire here! Good to see Warren and Saundra again. I learned that they also travel for extended times…say a cruise around the globe in 110 days. Hmm, seeing the world but not having to pack up and unpack every few days seems attractive….
