Green Mountain Postcard

RN: PEOPLES- this is our second to the last blog. We are heading home tomorrow and, after we get back, we will post a summary of our trip- miles traveled, charging costs, map of our travel and maybe a couple of final thoughts.

Since this past Saturday, we have been in Vermont with our friends Jon and Susannah at their lovely house on Lake Champlain. We’ve been trying to recover from driving and enjoying the familiarity of being with folks we’ve known for a long time and in familiar surroundings (after all, we lived in Vermont for 15 years from 2001-2016).

This is the view from the deck of the house looking out at Jon and Susannah’s sailboat at sunset.

Here we are doing a lazy sail on the lake. The wind was only blowing at 5 knots.

Another sunset photo…

We hiked up 695 feet to the summit of Mt Philo in Charlotte. This is the view over the Champlain Valley and Lake Champlain from the top…

Another gorgeous sunset…

Here we are with Jon and Susannah (in back) and Tom (who ate out with us at the first stop in our epic trip). Tom completes the circle!

FE. It is truly GREEN in Vermont…here we are driving a backroad to Middlebury

what drive in VT would be complete without crossing under/over a covered bridge

and here we are at the end of the drive with Linda and Paul, Alex’s parents

Why are there no pictures of now highly pregnant (and tired of it) Midori and Alex, you may ask? Well we got busy helping them move into their new house in Shelburne and plain forgot to take them….time to go home, I guess.

  3. How lovely. I will be glad to see you again.

Yes, a shame not to see the highly pregnant Midori! I guess, as predicted, they managed that complicated move with their usual grace and style.

Welcome back to the right coast.
